Importance of the places and facts
Vrindavan is the home of more than 5000 temples, ghats, ashrams and sadhus. Every temple tells a story of shree krishna leela. You will find many temples which are ancient with ancient architecture. There are some temples which are from dwapar yug ( from shree krishna times ).
In sculpture, mahabharat where vrindavan, gokul is referenced as shree krishna childhood leela’s.
Vrindavan is called brij bhoomi and the originating people are named as brijwasi. Brijwasi’s love to greet everyone with radhe radhe and jai shree krishna. Brijwasi are very loving and caring. This place is very secure and you can see people travelling in midnights saying radhe radhe.
Vrindavan is a very sacred place where many devotees perform bhakti yog get enlightenment. When we look into their biographies vrindavan, yamuna, raj and brijwasi plays an important role.
Places to visit here
When you visit vrindavan, it is very difficult to complete all the 5000 temples in vrindavan. So if you visit sapt devalaya then it is considered as completely visiting vrindavan. Below are sapt devalaya temples.

- Shree shree radha damodar ji mandir – Must do 4 parikrama of this temple. The 4 parikrama of this temple is equal to 1 parikrama of giriraj ji goverdhan. There is a goverdhan sheela present in the temple which is given by lord shree krishna to shree sanatan goswami.
To complete these sapt devalaya it is required 3 days. It is very important to sit in the temple for some time.

- Rangnath temple – Very beautiful, old and very large temple. In this temple compound there are other small temples of other gods as well. This is said to be vaikunth of lord vishnu. Please take a guide here so that he can explain everything to you. Guide can take from Rs50 to Rs100.
- Tatiya stan – No gadget allowed till now. If you wish to see and feel the old vrindavan then you must visit tatiya stan.
- Prem mandir
- Kesi ghat.
- Goverdhan Giriraj ji maharaj
This is not only the place of temples but also the places of sadhu and saints. If you have time then do gau seva and sant darshan.
It is important that whenever you are visiting any place or temple here, you can take a brijwasi as a guide who can guide you throughout the history of it.
Days need to stay here
For Vrindavan only, not gokul or nandgaon, you will need at least 3 days. Vrindavan itself is a huge point of attraction with history everywhere. So it is best to have some time in vrindavan itself.
Distance Nearest railways, airport and bus stand
- Nearest railways is Mathura Jn Station | MTJ
- The nearest international airport from Vrindaban is Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL), Delhi that is 147 KM from vrindavan.
- Nearest Bus stand is Gaura Nagar Colony, Vrindavan, Vrindaban Khadar which is near old Rangnath temple.
Places to stay
There are lots of ashram, cottage, dharamshala and hotels in vrindavan. Here you can get as low as 300 per day dormitory to 1500 per day rooms in hotels as well.
It is just a suggestion to stay in prime locations so that you can visit vrindavan just by walking. As if you are exploring spiritually as well then also walking in vrindavan is having its own mahima said by lots of brijwasi’s.

Vrindavan is not a very expensive place. See the price distribution below:
- A normal ashram or dharamshala room with attached bathroom can cost around – Rs 600 per day ( nov 2026 we live in a dharamshala with this price )
- Per day thali rate is Rs 120 per thali for one time. You will get enough food.
- Per day lassi glass rate is Rs 50
So for one person a normal days budget will be Rs 1000 to Rs 1500
This budget does not include you shopping, travelling and transportation.

As this place is the home and heart of shrimati radhika rani. So we must respect this place and must not do the listed things.
- Do not throw garbage here and there.
- Do not harm anyone with your words or physically
- There are monkeys everywhere so keep your items inside the bags.
- Do not take your shoes inside the yamuna river.

Among all the travelling, vrindavan is most close to my heart and it feels like home. When I wrote this article I was already travelling for my first time visiting vrindavan with my family. It is magical. I am not saying that you will be feeling the same thing but for me I am feeling this for the first time. I live in Jharkhand very far from faith and religion. When I was in vrindavan I connected with this faith and love presence in vrindavan.
