Sri Chennakeshava temple dedicated to lord vishnu, situated in the Beluru, Karnataka. Chennakeshava name came from sanskrit word. It is the combination of 2 word, Chenna means “Beautiful” and Keshava means lord “Vishnu”.

What are the significance of the temple?

This is one of the finest temple in India. This is an important historical and religious site. It was built by Hoysala king Vishnuvardhana.

This temple is the sign of kings victory, love and dedication towards lord vishnu. The temple is very famous for its carving and detailed sculptures. The walls and pillars are very finely carved and made the sculpture of gods and goddesses, animals and many more.

In the walls the hindu epics are also sculptured like Ramayana, Mahabharat, Bhagwat etc.

What are the best time and season to visit?

The best season to visit this temple is during October to March. During Feb to march there are very limited crowd.

The timing is 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM but during morning time there are less crowd.

The nearest airpot is Bangalore from where we can take cab or bus to the destination.

The nearest railways station is Bangalore, Mysore, Hubli, Shimoga, Mangalore.
