Introduction
Mathura is the city of Yamuna Ghat’s. Of all the ghats, Vishram Ghat is the main ghat in Mathura. From its history, Mathura is known for its ghat’s as it has a huge Yamuna river because of it trade is easy here. So Mathura is one of the known luxurious cities in ancient India. Importance of the places and facts
Vishram ghat is one of the tourist attraction in mathura. People love to visit here for morning holy bath and the holy yamuna maharani’s aarti. The yamuna maharani aarti perform’s two time a day one is in the morning and second in the evening.
After killing kansa both shree krishna and bal dau came here and took rest. Therefore this ghat is named as vishram ghat. This place is so peaceful that you will really want to rest here. Another importance of this place is when lord krishna return to mathura from dwarika he marry’s yamuna kalindi ji.
This is a very beautiful ghat and you will find many small temples nearby. You will find shree krishna and bal dau temple with their weapons. Around that temple you will find all other temples of shiv, Yamuna and other devi and devta. The whole surrounding is very colorful and feels different.
Places to visit here and activities
Near Vishram ghat there are many places which you can visit.
- Vishram ghat arti’s – 5 AM morning and 7 PM evening. Time may vary according to the seasons.
- Many small nearby temples of Vishram ghat.
- Dwarikadhis temple.
- Kansa teela.
- Tilak dwar ( Holi gate ) – where you can find all the old shops to do shopping, mainly huge dryfruits shops.
- Yamuna snan and pujan – There are changing rooms made for females to change their clothes.
- Boating – You can hire boats from here.
- Enjoy famous street foods here like peda, lassi, dhokla, kachodi and sabji, puri sabji and many more in the evening.

You can stay in mathura for 2 days and for vishram ghat you can spend morning and evening arti’s.

Must Not do
- This is the main arti ghat so it is very important to put the shoes outside the ghat. Do not take your shoes in the ghat.
- Do not throw litters or plastics in the ghat.
- Do not spit in the ghat or Yamuna ji.
- Do not mess with the monkeys.
- For females a changing room is available to change the clothes after yamuna snan so do use the room and do not change clothes in the ghat.

Vishram ghat is one of the beautiful ghat and this is one of the prime locations for tourists. This is my favorite place in Mathura. I can spend hours sitting here and watching yamuna ji and its arti. This place is very peaceful and the best place for meditation. I like the food here in the morning and the evening.
